Ridgewood Superintendent Tom Gorman Moving To Montville Schools

Dr. Thomas A. Gorman, superintendent of Ridgewood Schools, is leaving to become superintendent of Montville Schools in Morris County.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Dr. Thomas A. Gorman, superintendent of Ridgewood Schools and past high school principal, is leaving to become superintendent of Montville Schools in Morris County.

The Montville Township Board of Education announced Gorman's appointment March 15. He will begin work at Montville in July.

Montville BOE President Charles Grau spoke highly of Gorman's educational innovations and his vision in a news release.

Gorman was Ridgewood High School principal for 8 years prior to taking the superintendent position in 2020. He was principal of Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School from 2007-2012.

I am looking forward to working collectively with parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and the Montville Township Board of Education to help each student achieve their fullest potential in a learning environment of the highest quality.”

Ridgewood BOE President HyunJu Kwak said the district will hire an interim superintendent in the coming months, according to NorthJersey.com
