Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Concert

Musicians to Perform "Peter and the Wolf" and Other Pieces on Friday, Dec. 2

The Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra’s second concert of the season will be performed Friday, Dec. 2, at the West Side Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m.

For music lovers wishing to hear holiday music, the orchestra will play Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf,” to be narrated by Kristen Plumley, and selections from Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel,” to be sung by mezzo-soprano Lesly deGroot, soprano Jennifer O’Hara, and Ms. Plumley, a soprano.

Amanda Harberg, one of America's pre-eminent composers, is the orchestra’s inaugural Composer in Residence. Her piece “Prayer for Orchestra” will also be performed.
