Ridgewood Wins North 1, Group 5 Championship, Finishes Season 12-0

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Undefeated. It is a word rarely used in sports. Everything has to be just right and you probably need a few breaks along the way for it to happen.
But for the Ridgewood Maroons, that's exactly what happened at MetLife Stadium Sunday.
Ridgewood beat Passaic County Tech 14-13 to win their fifth state sectional championship in school history, capping off their first 12-0 season. It is the Maroons' first championship since 2004.

Ridgewood played for the championship at MetLife in 2013 and last year, only to lose both contests.
Coach Chuck Johnson told NorthJersey.com that his players "have been so great all season. They’ve done everything they had to do and more, and I can’t think of a better group to be 12-0.”
