Scammer Tries To Buy 3 iPhones Using Glen Rock Resident's Information

A fraudster used a Glen Rock resident's information to buy iPhones at several stores, police said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A Glen Rock resident told police last month that a fraudster used their information to buy or try to buy three different iPhones.

The resident reported on Feb. 3 that the person somehow stole their Verizon wireless account information.

The fraudster went to an Apple Store in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania and bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max, charging it to the victim's account, the person reported.

The scammer also tried to buy a phone at a Verizon store in Easton, Pa., but could not, the person said.

Then, the person also tried to order an iPhone 17 for pickup at a Verizon store in State College, Pa. The person was also unsuccessful at completing the transaction, the victim said.

The Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating the matter in cooperation with the State College Police Department, police said.
