Sexting Glen Rock Cop's Bail Hearing To Continue Today

Eric J. Reamy tentatively placed into monitoring program.

A hearing at which a judge could rule that Eric J. Reamy be released on bail if he wears an electronic ankle bracelet is scheduled to continue today.

Superior Court Judge Susan Steele heard testimony Monday from a mental health technician and a Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer during Eric J. Reamy’s bail hearing. Steele ordered that Reamy be placed into the monitoring program on the condition that he would receive another mental health evaluation.

If released on bail, Reamy, a Fair Lawn resident, would have to wear an ankle bracelet. Reamy’s bail was set at $250,000.

Reamy is accused of engaging sexually explicit text messages with two teenage girls he was supervising, and exchanging nude photos with one of them. He was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He has been suspended without pay.

Jacqueline Gill, a mental health technician who conducts suicide risk assessments on inmates coming into the Bergen County Jail Monday testified Monday that she conducted an assessment on Reamy last Thursday and found he did not pose a risk to others, The Record reported.

Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer Daniel Maro testified Monday that he was concerned about two guns that Reamy once owned because records authenticating that they have been sold were not found as of Monday.
