SWAT Standoff Ends Peacefully In South Bergen: Report

Police ended a standoff with a south Bergen man peacefully after several hours Monday evening in Emerson, a report said.

EMERSON, NJ — A standoff between a south Bergen man and police ended peacefully after several hours Monday evening, a report said.

Emerson Police and Bergen County Regional SWAT went to the 27-year-old's home Monday after a call came in that the man may have weapons, according to the Daily Voice.

An Emerson police officer spoke with the man for about three hours, the Daily Voice reported, and the man came out without incident. There were no weapons in the home, the police chief told the Daily Voice.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for an evaluation, according to the report.

Police told the Daily Voice no one was injured and no charges were filed.
