Theodosia and Aaron Burr Featured in Play by Shakespeare

First Flight Theatre Company of Ridgewood, New Jersey is pleased to kick off its fall 2021 season with a benefit for the First Flight Theatre Company of Theodosia’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream adapted and directed by Frank Farrell. The play is available for video streaming from Wednesday, October 13, 2021 to Sunday, October 17, 2021. The video stars award winning actor/director and company Artistic Director Frank Farrell supported by a cast of 20 other actors with a run time of just under two hours. It’s 1782 and Theodosia Bartow Prevost and Aaron Burr are newlyweds. They were recently married at Theodosia’s home called the Hermitage in New Jersey. It is the night before the Burr’s
relocate to Albany, New York and Theodosia is torn about moving away from her childhood home. While reading William Shakespeare’s comedic play A Midsummer Night’s Dream she falls asleep and dreams she is in the play. The First Flight Theatre Company (www.firstflighttheatreco.com) is devoted to presenting plays by 20th century American playwright Maxwell Anderson as well as other playwrights who instill
poetry in their writing. First Flight through a focus on voice, text and story, is dedicated to the dynamic performance and exploration of plays and playwrights whose use of language heightens the theatrical experience. The company’s first performance on May 5, 2018, was at The Hermitage (www.thehermitage.org) with Maxwell Anderson’s play Valley Forge. Since then, they have had play readings of plays by Anderson and others in New York City, Chicago and New Jersey. During the pandemic, the company produced 10 virtual performances on Zoom with their most recent Zoom performance this past May, Forgotten Soldiers From Our Forgotten War. First Flight’s Zoom Film A Vampire Kiss in the Plague of 1666 is currently being seen at film festivals all over the world.
