ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER 1 – RIDGEWOOD WATER – The Village of Ridgewood, Bergen County, NJ, is seeking a full-time Environmental Engineer for the water utility. The position has a salary range of $65,267 to $96,846. Job responsibilities are similar to those specified for NJ Civil Service Commission Title #16302 and include:

1) Assisting in professional engineering work and field inspections essential to the operation of the water utility

2) Preparing and executing engineering data for use during design and construction of utility projects

3) Assisting the Director and Senior Engineer in making determinations and/or recommendations on all work

4) Collecting data and preparing reports on the findings of investigations, inspections, surveys or tests

5) Learning and utilizing various types of record keeping and information systems used by the utility, including GIS mapping and data entry or analysis

6) Liaison to customers, consultants and contractors on multiple projects and responsible for communicating and coordinating resolution of any project concerns

The candidate is expected to have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering or in a related Environmental Field. Minimum one (1) year of professional experience in environmental engineering work is required. Experience in the water utility industry and professional engineer licensure is a plus. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
