RIDGEWOOD, NJ — During the dawn of Hollywood, major film studios like Warner built grand movie halls to show only their productions. Just a handful of those historic theaters remain, including in Ridgewood.

This week, Ridgewood’s Bow Tie Warner theater announced it will close Sunday after its last shows.

According to a history on the web, the theater's first film was Warren William and Bette Davis in “The Dark Horse” on June 15, 1932. Cineplex Odeon bought and expanded the theater in 1981. Bow Tie Cinemas took over in 2013.
