What You Need To Know About Ridgewood's Graydon Pool Opening

The pool opens Monday, but will follow new coronavirus protocols for the 2020 summer.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Swimmers rejoice: Graydon Pool will open on Monday, according to an announcement from the Ridgewood Parks and Recreation Department.

The pool will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but with a new set of protocols in place due to the coronavirus.

According to guidance from the department, all attendees must wear masks while entering the facility while also practicing social distancing. A COVID-19 release waiver must also be signed before entering.

Patrons are asked to maintain 6-feet social distancing requirements by standing on marked spaces while waiting in line.

The department also distributed an infographic with operations and procedures, which will be instituted to combat any COVID-19 related health concerns.

For instance, there will be only one designated entrance to the pool, and capacity will be capped at 50 percent.

Like other New Jersey pools, Graydon employees will work to sanitize "touch points" throughout the facility hourly, as well as monitor the number of people allowed into restrooms at one time.

Staff will also be screen prior to their shift each day, and a COVID-19 contact person will be responsible for monitoring and encouraging health and social distancing measures, according to the department.
