Will Bergen County Really Get More Snow This Weekend? See Local Forecast, Timing

A Hazardous Weather Outlook was just issued for Bergen County. See the new map showing the likelihood of snow in each area.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Bergen County on Tuesday afternoon, saying there's a "low probability for widespread hazardous weather that would meet NWS warning criteria" through the weekend.

But how low is low?

The NWS says there's a 50 percent chance of snow in the area on Sunday.

Accuweather, meanwhile, put the chance of precipitation at 35 percent for Sunday, but noted, "Windy and frigid with a chance for snow; there is the potential for a major winter storm." They said winds will gust up to 30 MPH.

The NOAA also said a storm is possible, particularly along the coast. They posted this map early Wednesday morning:

The NWS said that the past weekend's snowstorm brought more than 11 inches of snow to some towns in Bergen County. The forecast from a week out had said there was only a 30 percent chance of snow Sunday.
