4 River Edge Restaurants To Try This Weekend

From live music and steaks to BYOB Italian food and diner classics, these local spots offer four ways to give the kitchen a break.

RIVER EDGE, NJ — If cooking is not on the weekend agenda, four River Edge restaurants offer very different ways to answer the familiar question: What should we eat?

For a night out with music, Prime 259, located at 259 Johnson Avenue, pairs its Italian steakhouse menu with live performances Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant also has outdoor seating, fire pits and televisions for catching a game.

Sanducci's Trattoria keeps things cozy at 620 Kinderkamack Road, serving traditional Italian dishes in a casual, family-owned setting. It is BYOB, and its patio is open during regular hours when the weather cooperates.

River Edge Pizza Kitchen, located at 830 Kinderkamack Road, Suite B, is an easy choice when everyone wants something different. Along with thin-crust pizza, its official website highlights pasta, empanadas and Spanish flan, plus vegan and gluten-free options.

Then there is the River Edge Diner at 516 Kinderkamack Road, an old-school option with a full-service bar, an open-air patio and desserts baked on the premises daily. Its official website also offers pickup ordering for anyone planning a quieter meal at home.

Whether the plan calls for steak and live music, a bottle of wine with Italian food, pizza for the group or an old-school diner meal, River Edge residents can stay close to home and still give the kitchen a break this weekend.
