RIVER EDGE, NJ — River Edge residents can spend an October afternoon getting to know the organizations, businesses and borough departments that keep their community moving.
The annual River Edge Day will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 4, at Veterans Memorial Park.
Visitors can stop by booths for demonstrations, information, handouts, discounts and other activities. Participating groups must offer residents a free raffle, activity or service, according to the borough.
The celebration will also include giveaways, free raffle prizes, information tables, a pumpkin patch and live music by Jumpin' Dragons. Attendees can connect with community organizations, businesses, schools, municipal departments and government service providers.
Raffle drawings will begin at 3:30 p.m., and winners must be present to claim their prizes.
Businesses, organizations and borough departments can register for a free 12-by-12-foot space. Vendors must bring their own tables, chairs, tents and supplies, and vehicles are not permitted inside the park.
If rain interrupts the celebration, the borough plans to hold the event one week later, on Sunday, October 11.
