RIVER EDGE, NJ — River Edge voters planning to return their mail-in ballots before the general election have several secure ballot drop-box locations available in Bergen County.
Although River Edge does not appear on the Bergen County Board of Elections' official drop-box list, voters can use another authorized drop box in the county.
One nearby option is the Bergen County Administration Building at One Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack.
Another is the Teaneck Municipal Building at 818 Teaneck Road. According to the New Jersey Division of Elections, the drop box is located at the building's north entrance.
Bergen County also lists a drop box at the Bergenfield Borough Hall, 198 North Washington Avenue.
The county says its ballot drop boxes are available 24 hours a day through the general election.
The deadline to place a completed mail-in ballot in an authorized drop box is 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Ballots deposited after the deadline will be considered late and will not be counted, according to the county.
Voters who prefer another return method can deliver their completed and sealed ballots to their county Board of Elections office by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Mail-in ballots can also be returned through the mail. The state Division of Elections says mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the county Board of Elections no later than Monday, Nov. 9.
Mail-in ballots cannot be returned to regular Election Day polling places or early voting locations.
Voters can also check whether their mail-in ballot has been received through New Jersey's Track My Ballot portal.
