Attempted Luring Of Juvenile Girl Reported In Oradell: Police

The suspect reportedly followed the girl for 'a good length of time' before leaving the area, police said.

ORADELL, NJ — There was a reported luring of a juvenile girl in the borough July 4, police said.

The luring occurred at about 1:40 p.m. while the girl was walking on Maple Avenue, the Oradell Policemen's Benevolent Association reported.

The suspect pulled up next to a girl in a "newer model" black, 4-door sedan, asked her what her name was and where she was going, police said. He then asked the girl to get in the vehicle.

The suspect followed the girl "for a good length of time" before leaving the area, police said. The suspect is described as a white man in his 60s with brown hair. The vehicle may also have had tinted windows.

Police ask anyone to immediately report vehicles matching the description driving slowly near juveniles to the Oradell Police Department or if someone knows the possible suspect to call Detective Marc Fedorchak at 201--261-0200.
