Bergen County’s “Art in the Park” Show is Today

Head to Van Saun Park in Paramus from 11am to 4pm

Throughout the late morning and the afternoon, the 47th Annual Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert will take place from 11am to 4pm in Van Saun County Park, Paramus. 

This free show sponsored by the Bergen County Department of Parks and the Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, with funds made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Approximately 100 visual artists will be featured in this exhibition, representing the exciting wide scope of artistic diversity found within northern NJ.

The show is judged in five categories: Acrylics/Oils, Drawings/Prints/Pastels, Mixed Media, Watercolors, and Photography (Digital & Traditional).

This is a juried show, with cash prizes as follows: Best in Show - $500, First Place - $150, 2nd Place - $125, and 3rd Place - $75. The award ceremony will take place after 4pm and will be attended by County Executive Kathleen A. Donovan.

Come and enjoy the wonderful saxophone sounds of Bergen’s own John Spellman and his quintet. Spellman, who has played with some of the most talented jazz and pop artists of the 20thcentury, as a longtime resident of Bergen County will perform from 12:30 to 3:30pm. 

The annual show always proves to be a fun-filled day for all ages and helps the Division fulfill its goal of promoting local individual artists. Enjoy an afternoon in beautiful Van Saun County Park while meeting some of North Jersey’s finest artists.

Please feel free to bring folding chairs to relax and enjoy the band performance. Van Saun County Park is a wheelchair accessible site and large-print programs will be available.

The rain date is Sunday, October 2nd and the Cultural Division phone number will carry a rain date message after 7am on the morning of the show if postponed.
