Care to Take the Stage?

Bergen County Players will be holding open auditions on Monday and Tuesday for an upcoming production.

The Bergen County Players are holding open auditions for David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 13 and 14, 7:30pm, at the Little Firehouse Theatre.

Nothing has been pre-cast, all the rolls are available.  The show will be directed by Alyson Cohn.

Glengarry Glen Ross won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1984.  It is a story of sharp dialogue and complex, intriguing characters.   A sordid tale of four real estate agents who will stop at nothing to sell undesirable properties to unwitting buyers. This will be Bergen County Player's first production of a Mamet work.

Characters in this renowned play include cut-throat salesman Richard "Ricky" Roma; Shelly "The Machine" Levene, the once-great but now slipping salesman; Roma's client James Lingk; office manager John Williamson, the main antagonist of the story; aging salesman George Aaronow, the ultimate gutless follower; big-mouthed salesman Dave Moss; and police detective Baylen.  Additionally, there are the oft-mentioned but unseen characters of Mitch and Murray (no actors play these parts).  Together they make up the social commentary on a world where selling is akin to committing a crime legally.

Director Alyson Cohn requests that actors should be familiar with the script.  Sides will be provided at the audition.  If you've wanted to show off your acting chops, this could be your chance!
