Certosimo Stadium Field Highlighted in Calendar

For two consecutive years, the River Dell Regional grounds crew Fred Smith and Bruce Laboseur have been honored for their dedication to maintaining the Matty Certosimo Stadium Field.

"In this year's Pioneer Athletics calendar, the Matty Certosimo Stadium Field is featured following the hard work of the grounds crew and winning the Field of Excellence Award for two years in a row," Business Administrator Thomas Bonfiglio said.

The calendar photo features the Golden Hawks logo along with pink ribbon logos for breast cancer that were painted on the turf field last October.

"All the other winners and honorees are from colleges and universities which makes this award that much better," River Dell Board of Ed member Roger Tashjian said. 

Additional 2010 award recipients were Bryn Mawr College of Pennsylvania, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Nova Southeastern University of Florida, the Southwest Baptist University of Montana, and Virginia Tech.

The only other New Jersey school to receive the 2010 Fields of Excellence Award was Pennsauken High School. River Dell was the long New Jersey honoree in 2009.
