Off-Duty Bergen County Cop Saves Boy From Drowning: Police
Northvale Police Sgt. Michael Graham performed CPR after the boy became unresponsive while swimming, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An off-duty saved a boy's life at a pool party in Emerson Sunday, authorities said.
The boy and Northvale Police Sgt. Michael Graham were at the party when the boy was swimming and became unresponsive, Emerson Police Chief Michael Mazzeo said in a report by The Record.
Graham, an Emerson resident, jumped into action, performing CPR on the boy, resuscitating him, Mazzeo said in the report.

The boy eventually began talking when first responders arrived at the scene, The Daily Voice reported.
First responders took the boy to the hospital; he is expected to make a complete recovery.

"He did an outstanding job," Mazzeo said in the report.
