FUN DAY- CHALLENGER BASEBALL at OVERPECK PARK

On Saturday, Challenger Baeseball is hosting a Fun Day for all participants at the Overpeck County Park-Soccer Fields in Ridgefield Park from 11am to 4pm.

The National Anthem will be performed by John-Paul and Matthew Serednicky of River Edge who have been singing since they were 18 months old. They are pictured performing the National Anthem, accompanied by their father James on guitar, at the 2011 “Salute to Champions” event.

All of the participants will be provided with shirts and will line up on the field, holding banners containing their town names. 125 disabled and developmentally challenged individuals of all ages, will be participating in several three-inning baseball games. Additionally, baseball clinics will be run by former professional baseball player, Doug Cinnella.

Local high school ballplayers, dressed in uniform, will serve as mentors. County Executive Donovan will congratulate all the participants and volunteers, who make the Fun Day event possible. (Approx. 12 pm) Medals will be presented to all of the players. 250 people are expected to attend. Refreshments and barbecued food will be served.
