Love's Labour's Lost is one of Shakespeare's earliest (some say first) and happiest plays. The play is brought back to life in an abridged form with a cast of actors from The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Next Stage Ensemble. Shakespeare's elegant ode to romance is bursting with sparkling and sophisticated humor. Young King Ferdinand has sequestered himself away from the world and women with three of his courtiers in pursuit of knowledge and higher learning. Their plans are turned upside down with the arrival of the Princess of France and her ladies in waiting. Will love and romance topple their ivory tower?
