Fletcher Named to Board of Directors

The Volunteer Center of Bergen County has announced newly elected Officers and Directors and included in that honor was River Dell Superintendent and River Edge resident Patrick Fletcher to a three-year term. 

David Warshaw, of Ho Ho Kus, was elected First Vice President. Warshaw is Founder/Principal of Vistas Volunteer Management Solutions and formerly Manager of Corporate Communications at General Electric, and has served on the Volunteer Center’s board since 2003. 

Ian “Mac” Highet, of Ridgewood, is Treasurer. Highet, is a C.P.A. , retired from CFO of Reuters and Elsevier Publishing. Roberta Sonenfeld of Ridgewood, was elected Secretary. She is formerly Senior VP of Emigrant Bank, NYC .

Elected to a three-year term were Wendy Blacher, of Allendale, Vice President, Corporate Banking, PNC Bank,; James Brown of Teaneck is a self-employed CPA; Karen Corso, of Mahwah, is a Director at Legg Mason in Stamford, CT; Patrick Fletcher of River Edge, is Superintendent of Schools, River Dell Board of Education; Bob Johnston, of Emerson, is a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch in  Paramus and president of the Oradell/Emerson Rotary Club; Ann Lota of Hawthorne, is Executive Assistant to the President of Bergen Community College; Roger Monaco of Fort Lee, is retired as owner/ president of a logistics company; Joseph Sherman, of West Orange, is an attorney with Nowell Amoroso Klein Bierman in  Hackensack.

Messrs. Highet, Monaco and Sherman are also mentors with the Volunteer Center’s Mentoring Youth Program. Ms. Sonenfeld and Mr. Brown are graduates of the Center’s Bergen LEADS civic leadership program.

Elected for a second, three-year term were Pat Basilo of Tenafly, a business development consultant; Richard Kennedy, of Tenafly, a semi-retired banking executive; Susan Russ, of Westwood, Vice President of Internal Communications and Executive director of Reader’s Digest Foundation at Reader’s Digest.
