Oradell Police Warn Residents About Email Scam

Residents have reported getting emails from accounts from borough email accounts.

ORADELL, NJ — Police are warning residents about an email scam in the borough.

Throughout the past several days, residents have reported receiving fictitious emails that look like they are coming from borough email accounts, police said in a Facebook post. Some of the emails request the person send money overseas.

Police urge residents not to respond to the messages or send money. Authorities are "looking into the situation."

Anybody who receives a suspicious email, or who believes he or she may be the victim of a scam should call the Oradell Police Department at 201-261-0200.
