Oradell Ranked Among NJ's Top 100 Towns: Magazine

ORADELL, NJ — The borough has been named among the most desirable place to live, according to an annual ranking by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

Oradell is one of at least four Bergen County towns to make the magazine's Hot 100 Towns list. Nearby Ho-Ho-Kus, Glen Rock and Montvale were all ranked in the top 10 at Nos. 1, 3 and 7, respectively. The rankings are part of the magazine's "Best Places To Live" cover story in the Aug. 29 issue.

Ho-Ho-Kus jumped back to the top of the chart this year thanks largely to a 22 percent increase in the median home sale price from 2014 to 2016. Access to top schools and a low crime rate also contribute to the town’s standing. It was most recently ranked No. 1 in 2011.

New Jersey Monthly publishes the Hot 100 Towns list annually. Leflein Associates, an independent research firm in Ringwood, complies the chart based on factors a homebuyer would consider, including home prices, real estate taxes, school results, crime rates and access to hospitals, restaurants and entertainment venues.
