Man Killed On Train Tracks In Oradell, NJ Transit Says

ORADELL, NJ — A man was killed after a NJ Transit train struck him on the train tracks near New Milford Avenue Wednesday night, NJ Transit said.

The man was hit just after 7 p.m., said NJ Transit spokeswoman Liz Chamberlain.

The train left Spring Valley, New York at 6:48 p.m. and was due to arrive in Hoboken at 8:03 p.m., Chamberlain said.

None of the approximately 400 passengers and crew on board the train reported being injured, Chamberlain said.

ServiService was suspended in both directions between the New Bridge Landing and Spring Valley stations for about 3 hours Wednesday night.
