Woman, 90, Died After Developing Fatal Bedsore At Bergen Nursing Home: Report

Anna B. Burkhart, 90, developed sepsis as a result of a bedsore on her lower back and later died, her family says in a lawsuit.

ORADELL, NJ — A 90-year-old woman died after developing a bedsore while being cared for at the Oradell Health Care Center, according to a lawsuit filed by the woman's family.

Anna B. Burkhart was admitted to the center after she fractured her right hip in October 2015, a report by NJ.com states.

The hospital kept Burkhart in a hospital bed for 100 days during which time a doctor and staff either did not notice or ignored the bedsore as it became larger, the report said.
