2 Middletown Teens Arrested in Rumson Armed Robbery
Two 18- and 17-year-old Middletown teens have been arrested for an armed robbery that happened in Rumson on Riverside Drive, police said.

Rumson, NJ - Two 18- and 17-year-old Middletown teens have been arrested for an armed robbery that happened earlier this summer in Rumson on Riverside Drive, police said. In the robbery, a gun was shown and an iPhone and $35 cash was taken, police said. Both teens were charged with armed robbery in the first degree.
Two juveniles told Rumson police the robbery happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23: Krischan Wehnke, 18, of Middletown and an accomplice produced a handgun and demanded cash from the two victims. The robbery happened in a home on Riverside Drive. The two then subsequently fled the scene in their vehicle with an iPhone and $35 dollars in cash.
The juvenile suspect, a 17-year-old from Middletown, was arrested on September 1 and remanded to the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center. Krischan Wehnke was arrested on September 5 by the Middletown Police Patrolman Rich Fulham on an outstanding warrant issued by the Rumson Police Department.

Wehnke surrendered himself to the Middletown Twp. Police, Lt. Paul Bailey of Middletown PD told Patch. "Middletown Police were aware of the warrant that had been issued by Rumson and we had been looking for him," Bailey said.
Wehnke was remanded to the Monmouth County Jail on a $250,000 bail.
