Fair Haven Boy, 9, Hit Biking Home From School
At 2:57 p.m. Thursday, the Fair Haven Police Department received a call of a bicyclist struck by a car on Hance Road near Knollwood School.

FAIR HAVEN, NJ — A nine-year-old boy was hit by a car Thursday afternoon while riding his bike home from school in Fair Haven, police there announced. The boy was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center with injuries that are not considered to be life threatening.
At 2:57 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 25, the Fair Haven Police Department received a call of a bicyclist struck by a car on Hance Road near Knollwood School.
Police responded and say the nine-year-old boy, a student at Knollwood, was travelling northbound on Hance Road when he was struck by a car travelling southbound. The boy was treated at the scene by patrol officers, the Fair Haven First Aid Squad, and MONOC paramedics. He was subsequently airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center by New Jersey State Police Medevac with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Stephen Schneider at 732-747-0991. The Fair Haven Fire Department, Fair Haven Fire Police, and Monmouth County SCART team assisted.
Fair Haven police did not say if the driver that hit him was charged.
