Fair Haven Mayor Addresses Rising Car Thefts
Mayor Halpern and Police Chief McGovern spoke to the public about the statewide problem of car thefts.
FAIR HAVEN, NJ — The Mayor of Fair Haven and Chief of Police addressed residents in an “important safety message” regarding a statewide increase in car thefts.
New Jersey is currently experiencing a “serious” spike in motor vehicle thefts, Acting Attorney General Matthew Platkin announced last month.
“Many Fair Haven residents are aware of the alarming number of car thefts in our area, which are occurring at all hours of the day and night,” Police Chief McGovern said. The Fair Haven Police Department has urged all residents to lock their vehicles and remove all keys and garage openers from inside them.
