Fair Havenite Gets Congressional Award
Congress established the Congressional Award in 1979 to recognize initiative, achievement, and service in young people.

A Fair Haven girl was one of seven area students to receive a Congressional Award from U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (D-12) on Wednesday night at Monmouth County Library headquarters in Manalapan.
As an award recipient, Melissa Dominach, of Fair Haven, was recognized for outstanding achievement, initiative and service.
"The program is non-partisan and open to all 14- to 23-year-olds," a released statement from Holt said. "The local students all have earned Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Award Medals — requiring a total of 200, 400, or 800 hours of activity, respectively."
