German School Expands, Opens Rumson Location

Non-Profit Expands Program Offerings

Rumson, NJ (August, 2015) – Eaten a bratwurst at a barbecue? Bought a sandwich at a deli? Attended kindergarten? Owned a dachshund? Well, then you already speak some German. With more than 3,000 words in English derive directly from German, fluent German speakers are sought after in the global economy, where more than 100 million people communicate in German every day.

Beginning September 2015, students who want to learn German and stand out among their peers can register for 55-minute weekly, small group classes from the German Language School (www.germanschoolmc.org) at its new satellite location at The Rumson Country Day School, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Rumson, NJ.

“We’re finding families are interested in exploring German as a preferred second language to differentiate themselves when applying for college, while exposing their children to another culture and perhaps even reconnecting with family who live abroad,” notes German Language School Principal Michaela Greco. “The additional campus offers classes for very small group interactions on a weekly basis and fosters ‘Weltoffenheit’ – an openness to the world, which prepares our children for their role as global citizens.”

Classes will be offered Wednesdays from 4:00 to 4:55 p.m. for pre-K through 12th grades. The School will also offer its popular, 45-minute Mini-Mäuse music and movement program for babies, toddlers and their caregivers. Find class schedules, tuition and more online at: www.germanschoolmc.org.

The non-profit German Language School (www.germanschoolmc.org), formerly German School of Monmouth County, provides weekly language enrichment classes for all ages and levels, with programs geared to native and non-native speakers.
