Neptune, NJ - Tuesday, April 3, 2017 - Fair Haven Girl Scout Troop 554 gathered at The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties to donate 78 pounds worth of Girl Scout cookies. The donated Girl Scout cookies will benefit the FoodBank’s network of more than 300 programs that provide more than 12 million meals annually to Monmouth and Ocean County residents.
Along with the donation to the Foodbank, Troop 554 tours the Foodbank and speaks to Foodbank's Executive Director, Carlos M. Rodriguez to learn about how their donation makes a difference, and how the Foodbank operates.
Foodbank Executive Director, Carlos M. Rodriguez spoke to Troop 554, and in appreciation said, “Thank you so much for your donation. I know it is hard to pass up Girl Scout cookies, they are so delicious. The families who receive the meals with your donation, will have a sweet surprise for dessert. Since 1.2 pounds of donated food equals 1 meal here at the foodbank, the 78 pounds worth of Girl Scout cookies equals approximately 68 meals. That’s awesome!”
