Looking for Kitten foster families!
The Associated Humane Society in Tinton Falls, NJ is currently accepting applications for kitten foster parents!

The Associated Humane Society in Tinton Falls, NJ intakes hundreds of kittens every year. The majority of these kittens are too young to be adopted, and need time to grow and develop. A shelter is not an ideal place for this, as kittens quickly get sick, and become undersocialized due to limited staff. In order to solve this issue, we have started a kitten foster program. Fostering is a short term commitment in which you as the foster family will keep the kittens for a few weeks and care for them until they are big enough to be adopted. The shelter will provide all medical care for these kittens, and supplies when available. All you need to do is provide the TLC that these babies need in order to stay healthy and happy! We will train people who are unfamiliar in how to handle kittens. We are in need of foster families for orphaned neonate kittens or "bottle babies" as we like to call them. These babies need specialized care and require someone who is available to feed them every few hours. It can be time consuming, but is a very rewarding job for sure! We want to find foster families for kittens that are eating well on their own, but just don't weigh enough to go up for adoption (These kittens are usually between 5-8 weeks old). There are also opportunities to foster nursing mom cats with kittens - this is probably one of the easiest jobs in this program - mom does all the work! You as the foster parent will need to provide mom with a safe environment for her to raise her babies in, and to make sure that the kittens become well socialized. Kitten fostering is a great experience for children to learn responsibility, also a good way for people to have a pet temporarily!
