Rumson, NJ - A Colonia man was arrested in Rumson after he was found with marijuana on him and claimed, falsely, to be a retired police officer, Rumson police said.

Michael Allan, 60, of Colonia was stopped and questioned by Special Officer Michael Berger on July 3 after police found him parked on the side of Rumson Road. He claimed to be a retired police officer from Kearny, but a check with the Kearny police department proved he was never employed there, Det. Chris Isherwood told Patch.

His car was searched, and marijuana was found inside, Det. Isherwood said. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, and impersonating a public servant or law enforcement officer.
