Missing Rumson Boater, Last Seen In Sandy Hook Bay
Richard O'Day has been missing since 11 a.m. on Sunday, his family reports.

RUMSON, NJ — A 54-year-old man of Rumson has gone missing from his boat in Sandy Hook Bay, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Richard O'Day left his home on Shrewsbury Drive from his private dock at around 11 a.m. on Sunday. The next day, around 2:30 p.m., his 27-foot Grady White Freedom boat was discovered anchored in either Spermaceti or Horseshoe Cove, containing his wallet and phone, according to O'Day's sister, Colleen O'Day Rozzi.
O'Day stands at 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown and gray hair, Rozzi said.

"He has spent his life on the water, surfing and on boats. If you are walking along the shoreline on Sandy Hook, please be alert, we need to find him," Rozzi said.
Rozzi and her family met with the Coast Guard Commander and several other officers yesterday to discuss any updates on the search. "They didn't offer any hope that he is still alive after all of that time in the water with very cold temperatures and strong currents. Richard is a prominent investment banker and has three children," Rozzi said.
