New Generation Makes Fair Haven Fire Department Proud
Kirstin Felsmann, daughter of former Chief John W. Felsmann, has graduated from the Fire Academy with honors.

FAIR HAVEN, NJ —Last week, Kirstin Felsmann became the second Fair Haven Fire Department Company No. 1 woman to graduate from the Fire Academy in Freehold, the fire department announced.
And she is getting hearty congratulations from the department she grew up in.
"Not only did she complete both the Firefighter 1 and 2 classes serving as a squad leader, but she also graduated at the top of her class and was presented the Captain Ronald W. Fitzpatrick award for her 'outstanding academic achievement and exemplary performance'," the news release said.

But in a series of accomplishments, she continues the Felsmann legacy of Fair Haven Fire Department service as a fourth-generation volunteer, the news release said. The department was founded in 1904.
The department even posted a picture of her on its website as a toddler at the firehouse.

"Twenty years ago, Kirstin Felsmann was a toddler being held in the arms of her dad – former Chief John W. Felsmann – in front of a fire truck," the department reminisced.
