Ocean County Man Indicted On Sandy Fraud Involving Rumson Home

Mark E. Herrneckar, 51, accused of bilking homeowner out of $6,200

A Monmouth County grand jury has indicted a Toms River man for taking $6,200 from a Rumson homeowner to install a generator after Superstorm Sandy and failing to do the work, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Mark E. Herrneckar, 51, of Riverwood Drive in Toms River, is charged with one count of third degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property received after he took $6,200 in December 2013 for the delivery and installation of a home generator at a Rumson residence. He never delivered the generator and failed to return the money to the homeowner, Gramiccioni said.

Herrneckar was arrested in December by members of the Monmouth County Superstorm Sandy Fraud Task Force. He is currently free on $5,000 bail.
