Repair work to the Oceanic Bridge, which connects Middletown and Rumson, will cause overnight closures.

Repair work to the structural steel and concrete deck on the Oceanic Bridge, which connects Middletown and Rumson, is underway.
Overnight closures will be in place Sunday nights through Friday mornings until April 30, according to a township notice. Those overnight closures will run from 10:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. There will be single lane closures during the day and early evening.
“To complete the work, we have developed a schedule to keep the bridge fully open to traffic during its busiest travel times: the morning and afternoon rush hours and all day Friday and Saturday,” Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering, said in a prepared statement. The project is a county one.
