Rise In Car Burglaries Reported In Monmouth County

The Rumson Police Department reminded residents to lock their vehicle doors and to never leave keys inside the parked vehicle.

RUMSON, NJ — As vehicle burglaries continue to occur in Monmouth County, the Rumson police want to urge citizens to lock their homes and vehicles.

Last week, Rumson police warned residents of the growing number of thefts. "Motor vehicle thefts continue to occur throughout Monmouth County and the State of New Jersey. The best way to deter these crimes is to keep your homes and vehicles locked and removing any valuables from your locked vehicles," police said.

Police also asked residents not to store or broadcast valuable items in their parked vehicles and to never leave keys or key fobs inside their cars.
