RUMSON, NJ — The polls have closed, and unofficial results are rolling in for the 2026 Primary Election.

In Rumson, the Republican primary for Borough Council has been one race catching people’s attention, with three candidates vying for two of the party’s open nomination spots.

Incumbents Gary Casazza and Linda J. Smith are running for re-election to the council under the Monmouth County Republican Organization ticket against challenger Robert Eyerkuss III, who is running under the Rumson Legacy ticket.

No one has filed a petition to run for council in the Democratic primary race.

Results are not official until certified by the Monmouth County Clerk.
