Rumson Man Named a Rhodes Scholar
Evan Soltas, 22, attended the Marine Academy of Science and Technology in Sandy Hook.

A Rumson native and Princeton University student has been selected as a Rhodes Scholar for 2016.
Evan Soltas, 22, of Rumson was one of 32 people selected for the prestigious honor.
He made the announcement via Twitter.

Soltas, a economics major, attended the Marine Academy of Science and Technology in Sandy Hook before transferring to Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, NJ.com reported.
He will study statistics and machine learning at Oxford, he told NJ.com.

Three other Princeton University students were named Rhodes Scholars, including Katherine K. Clifton of Hawaii, Cameron M. Platt of California and Richard J. Lu of Missouri.
