Rumson Police are reminding residents of important e-bike rule changes.
RUMSON, N.J. — The Rumson Police Department is reminding residents about new e-bike regulations scheduled to take effect next month.
Under the new rules, taking effect on July 20, riders must be at least 15 years old to operate an e-bike. Individuals under 15 will not be permitted to ride e-bikes.

The regulations also classify e-bikes as motorized bicycles rather than traditional bicycles. Riders age 17 and older must possess a valid driver's license, while 15- and 16-year-olds will be required to obtain a special e-bike license.
