Rumson Police Reported No 'Major' Infractions In 2021
No police officer from Rumson faced "major" discipline in 2021, according to a report from the AG's office.

RUMSON, NJ — The Rumson Township Police Department reported no "major discipline" for 2021. Meaning that no officers in the agency faced "major" punishment last year, according to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General's "Major Discipline" report.
The names and agencies of officers who were fired, demoted, or suspended for five or more days in 2021 were released in the report. This is the second major-discipline report to be released, the first of which covered the second half of 2020. No officer was named in the report last year, either.
In the summer of last year, former Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal directed all law enforcement agencies in New Jersey to publicly release certain disciplinary information. The directive came after the New Jersey Supreme Court allowed the public release of such info on a going-forward basis.
