Check out what's going on next week, July 14 – July 18, at Small Factory's Summer Camps for children ages 6-9! To register, call the studio at 732-212-1088 or visit our website.
Animation 101/201 and Videogame 101/201, 9am – 12pm In Animation, students explore the basics of animation production using techniques of creating a character, using frames, tweening and onionskin. The final product will be a basic animation produced entirely by the student. In Video Game students learn the basics/fundamentals of game making. Starting out with a brick breaker style game, kids learn how to create sprites and objects. Then they code those objects to bring the game to life. Once we have the basics down they evolve their game with power ups and multiple levels of increasing difficulty. We then take what we learned with our first game and apply it to a platform style game (ex: super mario bros.), where kids create characters that can jump, fall and attack.
Minecraft Open Play And Create-A-Cartoon, 1pm – 4pm. For Minecraft, we set up local servers so students can all play together to work, build, and create small or expansive designs. In the Create-A-Cartoon portion, students will work together to dream up an original story that will be turned into a 2-3 minute movie. They will journey through the production process while developing characters, backgrounds, props, scripts and music. The class concludes with a red carpet premiere!
