These New Jersey Colleges Are Among The Best In The World, New Ranking Says
U.S. News & World Report ranked the best universities in the world. See which New Jersey schools made the list.

U.S. News & World report released a new set of rankings, designating the best global universities and the United States leads the way with some of the best higher education institutions in the world claiming the top four spots on the list.
Among the universities ranked as the best global universities by U.S. News, it comes as no surprise that several of those schools are right here in New Jersey.
In fact, two spots on the top-100 list was taken up by universities in New Jersey. U.S. News ranked Princeton as the ninth best global university, and Rutgers University took the number 97 spot.

Another New Jersey school that made the list was the New Jersey Institute of Technology, which placed at 813th.
The rankings evaluated 1,250 universities on the list across 74 countries and 221 American universities made the list. To come up with the rankings, U.S. News first created a pool of universities using various sources, including a global reputation survey. The rankings were then calculated using 13 indicators and weights that U.S. News chose to measure global research performance. (You can see the full methodology here.)

- University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) (7)
- Columbia University (8)
- Princeton University (9)
- Johns Hopkins University (10)
- University of Washington Seattle (10)
- Yale University (10)
