Brickmaking Comes Back to Life for a Day at Sayreville Historical Society Demonstration (tapinto.net) — Sayreville residents just got a vivid reminder of the town’s brickmaking roots, with a hands-on demonstration at the Sayreville Historical Society’s Main Street museum tied to the borough’s 150th birthday. The event highlighted how local clay and the Sayre & Fisher Brick Company shaped Sayreville’s growth, and reminded neighbors that the museum, packed with artifacts and even authentic bricks for sale, is open twice monthly.
   

2. Route 35 Closed at Morgan Bridge as Sayreville OEM and Police Monitor Flooding (tapinto.net) — Flooding has closed Route 35 at the Morgan Bridge and parts of Bordentown Avenue, so Sayreville drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes. Sayreville OEM and police are closely monitoring high-tide flooding, downed trees, and power lines while warning residents never to drive through floodwaters and to travel only with extra caution during the ongoing storm.
   

3. Cops shoot dog that was attacking N.J. family, prosecutor says (nj.com subscription) — A violent dog attack at a home on MacArthur Avenue in Sayreville left three family members hospitalized and ended when responding officers fatally shot the animal, according to county prosecutors. The victims, ranging from their 20s to 50s, were reported in stable condition Sunday, while detectives continue investigating and are asking anyone with information to contact their office.
   

4. Another multiplier goes down as St. Augustine falls into D category, may eventually benefit Big Central squads (cjsportsradio.com) — Sayreville’s football team sits at 4-1 and currently eighth in its playoff supersection, and could quietly benefit from St. Augustine’s recent drop in NJSIAA multiplier status. If St. Augustine loses again, it may lower the OSI value for strong South Group 5 teams like Washington Township and Kingsway, potentially improving playoff chances for Big Central programs including Sayreville.
