1 Car Stolen, 1 Burglarized In Scotch Plains

Scotch Plains Police also report a driving under the influence arrest and reports of theft and fraud last week.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — One vehicle was reportedly stolen and another was burglarized recently in Scotch Plains, police report.

On Nov. 2: A 2017 Mercedes S550 was stolen from a residence on Frances Lane at about 1 p.m. The vehicle was entered stolen and a description was broadcast to surrounding towns. The vehicle was able to be tracked and was located at the Jersey Garden Mall in Elizabeth at about 5 p.m. The vehicle was recovered unoccupied by the Elizabeth Police Department.

On Nov. 7: A resident of North Plainfield reported their vehicle was burglarized at the YMCA located at 1340 Martine Ave. The victim stated her purse was removed from the vehicle and several credit cards were used at various locations. Under investigation.

On Nov. 2: The management at the Refuel Gas station located at 1500 Front St. reported the theft of gas. A customer filled their vehicle up and left without paying. Under investigation.

On Nov. 6: A resident on Ravenswood Lane reported a fraud. Someone gained access to the victim’s bank information and made a bank transfer without the victim’s authorization. Under investigation.

On Nov. 7: The management at the Uptown Vintage Furniture store located at 1833 Front St. reported the theft of a sign from the front of the store which was valued at $850. Under investigation.

On Nov. 7: A resident of Paramus reported the theft of her cell phone from a locker in the Robert Wood Johnson health center located at 2120 Lambertsmill Rd. Under investigation.

On Nov. 7: A resident on Roberts Lane reported a fraud. The victim’s stated that two individuals attempted to secure bank loans and put the victim’s name down as a co-signer without their knowledge. Under investigation.

On Nov. 11: Gina Senatus, 40, of Roselle was arrested for driving under the influence during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Scott Leyden. Senatus was transported to headquarters and processed.
