1 Car Stolen, Multiple Burglarized In Scotch Plains Sunday
A drunk driver was also charged after crashing into and damaging several mailboxes and a utility pole, Scotch Plains Police said.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — One car was stolen and multiple were burglarized this past weekend in Scotch Plains, police report.
On Nov. 24, a resident on Pitching Way reported a 2015 Chevy Impala was stolen from his driveway sometime overnight. The vehicle was later found crashed with no one inside in Newark, Scotch Plains Police report.
On Nov. 24, several vehicles on Rambling Drive were also reported burglarized during the overnight hours, police report.

On Nov. 19: James D. Miralda, 30, of Carteret was arrested on an active warrant out of Scotch Plains by Patrolman Gerard Rites.

On Nov. 20: A resident on Jerusalem Road reported fraudulent activity on several credit card accounts. This remains under investigation.
On Nov. 20: Robert Larsen, 52, of Sewaren was arrested for driving under the influence. Patrolman Dominick Luciano responded to a single car motor vehicle accident on Autumn Drive where several mailboxes and a utility pole were damaged. No injuries reported.
On Nov. 21: Derric J. Coleman, 24, of Plainfield was arrested on an active warrant out of New Providence during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Zack Vonlangen. Coleman was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Nov. 21: Ryan S. Cook, 40, of Fanwood was arrested on an active warrant out of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Smolinski. Cook was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Nov. 22: Demoye A. Myers, 42, of Irvington was arrested on an active warrant out of Newark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Scott Leyden. Myers was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Nov. 22: The management at the Sunoco gas station located at 1746 Rt. 22 reported a theft of gas. A vehicle fueled up and fled Rt. 22 eastbound without paying. This remains under investigation.
On Nov. 23: Raymond D. Forteau-Morris, 29, of Plainfield was arrested for driving under the influence and assault by auto during the course of a single car motor vehicle accident. Officers responded to the Martine Avenue Extension and found a 2003 Toyota in the roadway with heavy front end damage. The driver was unconscious in the vehicle and an adult female passenger was outside the vehicle suffering from minor injuries sustained in the crash. EMS as well as the traffic bureau and Union County Crash Team responded to the scene. Both occupants were transported to UMDNJ in New Brunswick.
On Nov. 23: A resident on Kevin Road reported a car burglary which occurred during the overnight hours. This remains under investigation.
On Nov. 23: Marcus Crawford, 36, of Rahway was arrested on an active warrant out of Scotch Plains by Patrolman Ed Budzinski.
On Nov. 24: Desean M. Hamlet, 18, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Justin N. Cooper, 18, of Brooklyn, New York for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both arrests were the result of a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Both were transported to headquarters and processed.
