2 Charged With Heroin, Marijuana Possession In Fanwood

FANWOOD, NJ — Fanwood Police report arresting seven people recently on charges including heroin possession, marijuana possession and warrants.
On Jan. 2 at 10:06 a.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and East Second Street for a motor vehicle violation. While speaking with the driver, Jhon Sotomayor-Llanos, 28, of Newark, the officer observed a grinder in the center console. When the officer retrieved it, the grinder had some green vegetation inside which appeared to be marijuana. Sotomayor-Llanoswas arrested, processed and charged with possession and released pending a court hearing. He also had an active warrant out of Mountainside which he was also released by the Mountainside Municipal Court.
On Jan. 3 at 2:10 p.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and East Front Street for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the passenger, Darnell Dixon, 55, of Roselle Park shows an active warrant out of Roselle and Newark. Dixon was arrested, processed and during a search the officer located a small packet in his wallet which contained a white powder appearing to be heroin. Dixon was charged with possession and released pending his court hearing. He was also released on Roselle and Newark warrants by the courts.

On Jan. 8 at 10:15 a.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at LaGrande Avenue and First Street for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver, Jose Rodriguez, 65, of Elizabeth shows an active warrant out of Perth Amboy. Rodriguez was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.
On Jan. 9 at 1 p.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and George Street for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver, Miguel Foster, 33, of Vauxhall shows an active warrant out of Union County Sheriff's Office. Foster was arrested, processed and turned over to Union County Sheriff's Office.

On Jan. 10 at 10 a.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Third Street for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver, Elizabeth Guzman, 51, of Orange shows an active warrant out of Fanwood. Guzman was arrested, processed and released by the Fanwood Municipal Court.
On Jan. 11 at 11:30 a.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at Terrill Road and North Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver, Ronald Forson, 30, of Prospect Park shows an active warrant out of Springfield and Wayne. Forson was arrested, processed and released by Springfield and Wayne Municipal Courts.
On Jan. 11 at 8:30 p.m.: An officer made a motor vehicle stop at Paterson Road and Terrill Road for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver, Ruben Alvarado Jr., 34, of Plainfield, shows an active warrant out of Plainfield, Carneys Point, Woolwich, Union and Jersey City. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to Plainfield Police.
