2 Union County Priests Accused Of Sex Abuse Disclosed

ELIZABETH, NJ — The names of two priests who served in Union County were included in a list of more than 100 clergy who have been accused of sexual abuse.

Charles J. Hudson was assigned to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth from 1970 to 1984. He died in 1997.

Daniel (Horatio) Medina was assigned to Blessed Sacrament in Elizabeth. He was ordained in 1998.

The law firm of Jeff Anderson & Associates released a report containing the names and histories of more than 300 people accused of sexual misconduct in the Archdiocese of Newark, Diocese of Camden, Diocese of Metuchen, Diocese of Paterson and Diocese of Trenton.

Patch only identified those who were formally accused by law enforcement, Jesuits or the Catholic church of sexual abuse. Patch is also only listing names not previously disclosed.

Nearly 200 names on the new clergy list were already named by the Catholic church earlier this year. The new disclosure contains more than 100 names of people that were not previously released.
